Description

Venn Group are working with a Local Authority in London to recruit an
Interim Project Manager (SEND) to work on their Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND) and Alternative Provision Transformation Programme.


The
Interim Project Manager (SEND) will work within Programmes and Change, which is a new function at the centre of the council within the Assistant Chief Executive's directorate.


Period:
3 months initial


IR35 Status:
Inside


Rate:
-£500 umbrella


Responsibilities in post:


  • Produce Project Mandates and Project Initiation Documents for all SEND projects, establishing robust project control arrangements to track and ensure delivery
  • Support the introduction of structured approach to Programme and Project Management across the SEND Programme
  • Support the delivery of all projects and workstreams within the programme including delivery of the Safety Valve and SEND Transport Projects
  • Ensure the reforms in the National Review of SEND are implemented in a way that supports and enables the achievement of the SEND Vision and Strategy
  • Work to balance the DSG budget, developing the workforce and providing an excellent SEND Service

Essential skills:


  • Prince 2 or APM qualification
  • Experience working within Children's Services in Local Government
  • Extensive experience establishing and delivering projects, completing project mandates and PIDs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels of the organisation
  • A team player who actively participates within Programmes and Change
  • Excellent understanding of project management approaches and techniques
