Psychology Graduate Support Worker in Specialist School


Location:

Salary:
£ £14.89 per hour (dependent on experience)

Tradewind Recruitment, a leading education recruitment agency, is currently seeking a motivated and dedicated Psychology Graduate Support Worker to join our team.

This exciting opportunity involves working within a Specialist School in Blackburn, supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

If you have experience deescalating challenging behaviour and working with children from Key Stage 2 up to Key Stage 4, we want to hear from you.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide oneonone support to students with SEMH needs, helping to develop their emotional wellbeing and promote positive behaviour.
  • Collaborate closely with the school's teaching staff to implement individualised support plans, ensuring each student receives the appropriate care.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported and empowered to reach their full potential.
  • Utilise your knowledge of psychology to devise and implement tailored strategies to address emotional and behavioural challenges.
  • Monitor and record student's progress, identifying any concerns and reporting them to the relevant staff members.

Requirements:


  • A degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • Proven experience working with children in Key Stage 2 up to Key Stage 4, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong skills in deescalating challenging behaviour and implementing effective behaviour management techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and resilience when supporting students facing emotional difficulties.
