Overview / Responsibilities:

Piping Superintendent - Isolations & Tie Ins, Redcar (Site Based)


Wood Process & Energy are seeking Piping Superintendent services with extensive onshore Piping Construction experience in dealing with Isolations & Piping Tie Ins to existing systems, working on large scale EPCm project within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical industries to support a major project.

In order to support this growth we anticipate the need for a Superintendent in the North East for a duration of - 8 months, ideally on a contract basis.


Scope of services required:


  • Ensure the piping construction team and contractors adhere strictly to the latest approved for construction project drawings, specifications, procedures, and site instructions.
  • Review and develop installation methodologies while ensuing sequence of works is input into the construction schedule, driving the construction team and contractors to deliver to plan.
  • In conjunction with the Construction Manager ensure installation and precommissioning requirements are undertaken in accordance with project specifications, procedures and coordinated with ongoing construction activities.
  • Provide daily supervisory surveillance checks and records, ensuring that contractors management and supervision are providing safe working conditions and permitting procedures, protective equipment, experienced, qualified supervision and manpower with reliable, well maintained equipment to execute the contracted works as per contract schedule and targets.
  • Routinely study, check, review and validate the discipline scope of work against the appropriate Contract Requisition to ensure the construction team and contractors correctly interpret and comply with the latest revision AFC drawings, quantities, and specifications.
  • In conjunction with the construction team and contractors, develop a schedule of tiein, interface and terminal points, supervise and coordinate the activities within assigned areas onsite.
  • Ensure all quality control checks and tests are instigated, with records maintained and available as required pre and post test checks, hydrostatic testing, flushing and drying, safety relief valve installation etc all in accordance with agreed ITP, method statements and project specifications.
  • Identify the hand over sequence on a system by system, area by area basis, all scheduled to produce logically planned work completions for commissioning and startup requirements.

Expected:


  • Demonstrable experience in a similar Piping Construction role with experience of working on a Petrochemical Site
  • Extensive experience in working with Operations to effect isolations and carry out tie ins to existing systems
  • Experience of GMP and UK wide EPC or EPCm experience
  • Technically qualified / time served trades person with trade registrations / vocational qualifications
  • Knowledge of local labour market
  • Demonstrable experience of managing direct labour
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation, codes and standards with the ability to manage contractors
  • Computer literate (MS Office components)
