BACKGROUND AND INTRODUCTION
Age UK Wolverhampton are a charity that aims to promote the wellbeing of all older people

in the City, and help to make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience. We provide

essential support to everyone over the age of 50 living within the City of Wolverhampton.

Our services include information and advice, home help, friendship groups, organised

activities, and a handyperson service.

JOB SUMMARY
Age UK Wolverhampton receives numerous enquiries from older people to its handyperson service for gardening.

We are looking for a self-employed gardener(s) to carry out this work on behalf of Age UK Wolverhampton on a self-employed contract basis as and when required.

Terms to be negotiated. We are also happy to hear from anyone who may be interested in the role as an employee.


PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL

• Experience in gardening, garden maintenance etc
• Experience of delivering a service to customers
• Own transport and tools
• Ability to supervise own work
• An understanding and empathy of older clients' needs

DESIRABLE

• Ability to negotiate works with clients and communicate on progress
• Written and verbal communication skills including the recording and reporting of completed jobs
• Basic IT skills for communication
• Experience of producing quotes

OTHER

• An enhanced DBS check is a requirement of this role
