We are searching for a passionate and adept Special Education Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic school community in Camden, London.

This is a unique opportunity for an individual who genuinely cares about supporting children with special needs, to makea significant difference in the life of a reception class child with Autism.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide individualized support to a reception class child with Autism
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to devise a customized education plan for the child
  • Aid with educational and therapeutic activities designed to meet the child's specific needs and abilities
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment for the child and their classmates
  • Keep track of the child's progress, wellbeing, and other relevant information to facilitate their growth and development
  • Provide assistance with personal care, including feeding and toileting, if necessary
  • Promote the child's integration into the classroom and broader school community
  • Salary: £85£95 per day

Requirements:


  • Experience working with children who have Autism or similar special needs
  • A thorough understanding of Autism and how it impacts learning and development, as well as current best practices for supporting children with the condition
  • The ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and staff, and to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • A proactive and solutionfocused approach, with the ability to think creatively and outside the box
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team and to go above and beyond to meet the child's needs
  • While not necessary, a relevant certification such as a Teaching Assistant or Special Needs Support Worker certificate is desirable.
