Reporting to the Director of People & Workplace, the Head of Facilities Management will play a crucial role in overseeing Volant Media's broadcasting facilities in London.

This position is key to ensuring operational excellence, with a special emphasis on maintaining 24/7 operational readiness in a broadcasting environment.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the Facilities Management services across all of Volant Media's broadcasting facilities in London, ensuring high standards of operation, particularly in the context of 24/7 operational readiness.
Leadership and management of the Facilities team.
Follow and comply with all relevant laws and standards, including jobspecific guidelines and codes.
In partnership with the Security team, develop and implement safety procedures tailored for 24/7 operational broadcasting facilities.
Foster a "culture of safety" throughout the organization, promoting a safe and fitforpurpose environment for all users of the facilities.
Manage soft services, ensuring effective preventive maintenance of building hard services, with an emphasis on continuous operations. Drive continuous improvement in processes and systems, ensuring top performance in all aspects of facility management.
Lead on Energy Management and Environmental/Sustainability initiatives, aligning with the operational requirements of broadcasting facilities.
Monitor building and material needs, manage construction and maintenance, coordinate with teams for professional selection and supervision, handle internal and external moves while ensuring contractor compliance with safety standards.
Engage with various stakeholders, including employees, management, external contractors, and regulatory bodies and serve as the primary contact for all estates and building management matters.
Prepare and present regular reports to senior management, maintain records of compliance, and document facility processes and changes.
Develop disaster recovery plans, conduct regular risk assessments, and ensure readiness for various emergency scenarios.
Manage budgets, including budget preparation, costbenefit analysis, procurement, and contract management.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Demonstrated experience in Facilities/Project Management, particularly in environments requiring 24/7 operational readiness. Prior experience in broadcasting is highly desired.
Strong understanding of M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) control, compliance processes, and highvoltage equipment management.
Proven expertise in workplace health, safety, and legislative requirements, especially in a 24/7 broadcasting environment.
Financial Management skills, capable of managing budgets efficiently in a dynamic operational context.
IOSH and/or NEBOSH certification.
Knowledge of Building Management Systems.
Preferred qualifications include a degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential.
