Location:
Flexible location with hybrid working. Travel around the East and West Sussex region. Regional travel, occasional National travel and overnight stays may be required.


Hours:40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

The successful applicant will support our Material Recovery Facilities, Transfer Stations, Household Recycling Facilities & Waste collection services in the East & West Sussex Area.

What will you be doing?

  • Actively support the business on Safety, Quality & Assurance matters by conducting regular site visits (as per our Annual planner), assure the business the right standards are in place, undertake regular audits, conducting engagement visits and monitor progressagainst the VEOLIA Minimum Requirements (VMRs).
  • Engage with operational teams and identify further improvements and provide solutions.
  • To work closely with the R&A Manager/Advisors to support operations, and where appropriate support and liaise with external stakeholders, regulators and customers.
  • To liaise with clients, provide support and advice on industry best practices.
  • Monitor the performance of your sites/projects in order to identify where additional support is required.
  • Organise and support 7 day reviews following close calls, incidents and accidents where required.
  • Communicate to the R&A team on good practice and lessons learnt.
  • Where you identify any serious issues, take the appropriate action which includes escalating and stopping the job.
  • Support sites by carrying out event investigations to identify the root cause.
  • Attend and support your contracts and projects and areas of responsibility by attending meetings where R&A presence is required.

What are we looking for?

  • Holder of the NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience in dealing with Household Recycling Centres, Waste Collection Services, Transfer Stations and Material Recovery Facilities.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Transport Management, Yellow Plant and Fire Management.
  • Proficient in internal audits, inspections and accident investigations.
  • Experience of different operational activities and the ability to influence key stakeholders on site.
  • An individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide industryleading customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • You must be able to drive and travel throughout the UK so a driving licence is essential.
  • Good presentational skills.
