Our client are one of Yorkshire's leading manufacturer of high-quality home improvement products including contemporary extensions, conservatories, orangeries, replacement roofs, and windows and doors.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Apprentice to join a small, busy, and friendly team.

You will develop your knowledge and experience of the processing and timely completion of the Purchase Ledger as well as assisting where needed with the wider finance team.

You will have a positive outlook with a strong focus on accuracy, with the ability to achieve deadlines


You will have the opportunity to study an apprenticeship in L3 business admin with Woodspeen Training and be able to develop your knowledge of working in a finance role.

Further career opportunities will be available, including support for you to undertake your AAT qualification.


Role Responsibilities

  • To investigate unallocated cash and to respond to purchase ledger supplier queries.
  • To be the main point of contact to resolve queries and to liaise with suppliers
  • To be responsible for petty cash, reconciling it on a weekly basis.
  • To process weekly supplier invoices, matching to purchase orders.
  • To check price, product and quantity matches with purchase order.
  • To check and reconcile supplier statements.
  • To file invoices and statements.
  • To chase relevant paperwork.
  • To complete general admin duties, photocopying, posting supplier invoices, statements.
  • Provide general admin and finance support to the finance team ensuring that all work is in accordance with the policies and procedures of the company.

Person Attributes

  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft packages in particular excel with the ability to type accurately with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
    You must have Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English to be eligible for this role.

  • A proactive approach to work with the ability to prioritise and manage own workload.
  • A highly motivated individual with a cando approach to work and the ability to get the job done in the required timescale.

Working Week:
Mon-Fri pm 37.5 hours per week


Salary:
Apprenticeship wage. £5.28 an hour, going up to £6.40 in April.
