The Change Pillar manages the delivery of the Counter Terrorism and Protective Security Policing Change Portfolio to meet strategic objectives.

It is split into 3 teams; Portfolio and Change Management, Project and Programme Management and Business Design.

The incoming individual will be working within the Portfolio and Change Management Team which provides change management support to the programmes and projects in the organisations Change Portfolio.


Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide support to the Business Change Leads to manage and develop the national Change Network, by providing change management support, training, guidance and assurance in order to deliver change in a way that minimises disruptionto operational delivery, build capabilities and realise benefits


Key Responsibilities

  • The role will involve full/parttime forward deployment to assist in business change on specific programmes / projects, which may come with a requirement to travel to regional sites across England and Wales to engage with and support the Regional ChangeTeams.
  • The role will also be expected to contribute to development and maintenance of the Business Change 'Centre of Excellence' i.e. continuous improvement of framework, methodology, tools and templates, taking into account lessons learned from using these, plusadvice and guidance to others.

Essential Experience

  • Experience of facilitating groups, balancing conflicting opinions, resolving disputes and building consensus as necessary.
  • Experience of listening and understanding to the needs and experiences of customers and using these to develop solutions or interventions to improve performance and achieve organisational outcomes.
  • Experience of business change including planning, managing and implementing change delivered by projects/programmes/portfolios.
  • Experience at supporting the management of organisational change blockers and issues to resolution.
  • Previous experience of working in (local) government, a security agency or policing is essential.

Desirable Experience

  • A clear understanding and knowledge of Counter Terrorism Policing including London (Metropolitan Police), National (UK Force wide) and international responsibilities
  • A clear understanding of Counter TerrorismPolicing relationships with Government, security and intelligence agencies, including legislative processes and their governance arrangements.
