Igloo has a fantastic opportunity for vehicle preparation operatives to join the team in Sandtoft, NE Lincolnshire, on a permanent contact.


The Role:

Within this role you will be responsible for undertaking all aspects of vehicle preparation and will find yourself working between the below areas and roles:

Wash Bay

  • Jet washing vehicles.
  • Using sponges and brushes to clean the outside of the vehicles.
  • Rinse the vehicles off.
  • Driving the vehicles in and out of the wash bays.

Valet

  • There are 3 types of valets offered, Gold, Silver, and Bronze, once you are trained on the standards for each of these you will be expected valet the vehicles to this standard every time.
  • You will be working with equipment such as:
  • Steam cleaners.
  • Wet Vacs.
  • Professional valeting products.
  • You will need to ensure that all rubbish is removed from all areas of the vehicles.

PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection)

  • Diagnostics, including electrical diagnostics.
  • Carry out general mechanical repairs inline with approved methods and processes.
  • Health checks.
  • Undertake road and ramp inspections.
  • You must ensure that all work carried out is done to a high standard first time.
  • You will be working within a large team within a busy and fast paced workshop.

Compound

  • Responsible for vehicle movements within a large compound.
  • Movements will include moving vehicles into and out of the workshops as well as bay parking within the compound.
  • Vehicles will range from small family cars through to high performance and high value cars.
  • Vehicle will be different transmissions, such as, manuals, automatics, semiautomatics, and electric vehicles.
  • Carry out an inspection of the vehicle prior to moving them to ensure any damage is reported.

  • Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be physically fit.
  • You will be the kind of person that thrives on working in a fastpaced environment and able to take instructions.
  • You will have an excellent eye for detail and demonstrate a professional attitude towards work.
  • You must be able to work as part of a team and take instructions.
  • You will need to hold a full category B driving licence with no more than 6 points for minor offences.
