Dorset Council is looking for a motivated, customer focused, team player to join the Customer Services team at Purbeck Sports Centre (Wareham) for casual holiday and sickness cover.


What you can expect to be doing:

As a first point of call for all customers you will be confident, approachable and dedicated to providing the highest standard of customer care.

The key duties for this position include;

  • Handling customers enquiries both in person and over the telephone.
  • Handling queries regarding the Centre, facilities, events and activities.
  • Taking bookings and payments on the pointofsale system using cash and cards
  • Assisting with general administration such as record keeping, replenishing leaflets and bookings.
  • Sales and Memberships
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work in a busy environment
  • Good level of IT Skills
  • The ability to use your own initiative
  • Experience in customer services

About you:


Flexibility and reliability are essential as you will be required to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holiday periods.

You will be a motivated and confident individual with a background of working in a customer facing role.
