Accounts Payable Assistant - St. Austell / Hybrid - Circa: £25,000

Trial Balance Consulting have been engaged by a very long-standing client, a well-established retail services business.

They currently seek to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant who will assume one of the lead roles in the management of accounts payable function.

This is a full time, permanent opportunity which is offered with a hybrid working for those that require (following initial settling in period).

The role will work for 3 days per week from the company's modern offices in St. Austell with up to 2 days of remote working.

The role works within a friendly and very experienced finance team and will report to the company's AP/AR Manager. This will be a busy, but well supported role which covers a broad range of accounts payable duties.


Key responsibilities to include:

  • Assume key responsibility for the accounts payable function
  • Creating new supplier accounts adhering to payment terms etc.
  • Act as first line of support for supplier queries
  • Manage supplier payments
  • Raise and allocate PO numbers
  • Stock adjustments
  • Statement reconciliations
  • Matching unbalanced invoices
  • Prepare VAT reports
  • Adhoc accounting duties including covering colleagues annual leave
