School Lunchtime Servery Assistant - South East London, United Kingdom - Group Eleven
Description
10 hours per week - Term Time Only (12:00pm -2:00pm)
Responsibilities:
- Set up the serving and dining areas as instructed by the Chef Manager.
- Serve food to students and staff while providing helpful service at all times.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure all service requirements are fulfilled.
- Prepare and serve refreshments for special functions; clean and sanitize cutlery, crockery, and serving items after events.
- Monitor food temperatures and appropriately label stock items according to procedures.
- Adhere to Health and Safety regulations and relevant legislation while carrying out duties.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of equipment, serving counters, and dining hall continuously.
- Perform washing up and cleaning tasks, including cleaning equipment and machinery.
- Participate in deep cleaning activities for the kitchen, food storage, serving, and dining areas as directed by the Chef Manager.
Qualification Criteria:
- Right to work in the UK.
- Possession of relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene qualifications.
- A good standard of basic literacy and numeracy qualifications (Essential).
Experience:
- Preferable experience in catering.
- Preferred experience of working with children.

- Excellent team player, displaying helpfulness, friendliness, and readiness to take on additional tasks as needed.
- Acts as a good role model for both students and staff, with high expectations for oneself and others.
- Genuine interest in and willingness to assist children in learning how to eat healthily.
Other Responsibilities:
- Operate the cashless till as needed.
- Undertake Fire Marshal duties and First Aid responsibilities as required.
- Maintain flexibility to support academy events such as the Summer Fair.
- Attend Academy Inset days for relevant training, typically from 8am to 4pm.
- Demonstrate commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils.
- Fulfill various other responsibilities as directed by the Executive Principal or Vice Principal - Business & Community.
