Job Title - HR Business Partner

Location - Eastleigh, Hampshire

Salary -£50k-£70k Depending on experience

Contract Type - Permanent

What will be keeping you busy?
Looking after the commercial function, you'll partner with leadership teams up to and including at board level. You will have accountability for shaping and implementing the people plan for this key business function.

You'll be part of a highly collaborativeteam, while also having the autonomy to work independently with your client group, making key decisions that bring the people plan to life.

You will

  • Be the first point of contact for the leaders in your function(s)
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, acting with integrity and balancing the needs of the function with your role within the People team.
  • Coach leaders to deliver improved business performance through the engagement and wellbeing of their people
  • Work with the Head of HR and specialist HR teams to deliver and drive improvements in annual key people activity, such as pay award, succession planning, engagement surveys
  • Drive the performance and talent agenda within allocated functions, ensuring leaders build robust succession plans and development plans for emerging and high potential talent.
  • Influence and encourage a culture of continuous improvement with a peoplefirst mindset.
  • Support the Head of HR in planning and implementing organisational changes
  • Coach and upskill leaders to implement change,and work with specialist HR teams toensure changes are embedded and sustained.
  • Be a role model and care for yourself whilst taking responsibility for your wellness, asking for support when you need it.
  • Demonstrate a passion for learning, being open to new ideas and experiences, and share your knowledge and expertise with others to benefit the whole team.

The client is open minded in terms of how much experience someone has,the key is that you are proactive, credible and passionate about HR.


We are looking for a self-starter, who can adapt their style and priorities to meet business needs and be able to demonstrate experience of driving a diverse and inclusive culture.

Someone who is a strong business partner, whether that be from a generalistor specialist HR setting is key. If you have managed teams in the past, that might be a bonus.

Experience of hospitality, retail or similar sectors might be useful but the hiring manager is not overly concerned about industry experience.


You need to be able to deliver effective, impactful, and engaging communications and will be someone who has the ability to quickly build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, as well as the People functionbecoming a trusted partner in the process.


Required Skills & Experience:


  • Curious and questioning, you'll ensure data is accurate and be happy to analyse and interpret data to inform decisions
  • Strong prioritisation and time management skills, with the ability to exercise appropriate autonomy
  • A confident coach and mentor, you will be adept at upskilling managers in people leadership
  • Able to provide a good balance of challenge and support for all levels of leadership
  • You will have basic OD skills from being part of change initiatives and be confident in delivering and embedding change in an organisation, including TUPE
  • Experience of leading successful projects which deliver improvements for colleagues
  • Commercial in approach with a good understanding of the business and the commercial impact of people initiatives
  • Some experience working in partnership with financial teams regarding budget and headcount
