Description
Our client is an Integrated Energy company, and trader of Commodity and Energy products including, Gas, Power, LNG, and Oil, based in Central London. They offer a unique chance to work within a growing and diversifying business, with a strong commercial appetite.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Coordinate cargo operations from trade inception to completion (cargo operations cycle).
- Work closely with traders, refinery schedulers, shipping, credit, settlement, demurrage etc. once deals are concluded.
- Work independently in handling varied operational issues.
- Liaise with counterparties in other oil companies regarding documents and requirements for cargoes
- Ensure all operational aspects of contracts are adhered to.
- Issue voyage orders to shipping/counterparties and monitor progress of vessel, informing trading of any changes in a timely manner.
- Appoint inspectors for quality and quantity. Check with traders whether expeditors required, specifically DES deals and/or high pour grades or high API grades.
- Notify loss control of losses and follow up with insurers and counterparties for any claims.
- Liaise with credit department if letters of credit are required and ensure cargo loading and discharging adhere to any credit or L/C requirements.
- Update ETRM accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of each cargo including prompt and accurate filing.
- Maintain contracts for backtoback crude cargoes.
- Maintain excellent HSE standards
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering/Mathematics/Finance or equivalent.
- Previous relevant workbased experience in operating of crude oil or products.
- Understanding of industry standards and their commercial impact, as well as market trends/drivers, competitor markets, terminals, logistics and refinery operations in area of responsibility
- Careful about details, thorough in completing work tasks, ability to discern discrepancies in data and reports.
- Facilitating analysis and resolution of multiple problems with critical timelines and multiple teams.
- Required to handle multiple complex and challenging operational issues.
