Your role will cover the following:

  • Coordinating day-to-day communications to all colleagues, working closely with the Strategic Communications Manager and key stakeholders to deliver College-wide communications
  • Contribute to internal communications planning, ensuring this captures events, regular communications and planned work with key teams like HR
  • Supporting the maintenance of our SharePointbased intranet as a key tool for internal communications developing new content and using strategy and insights to evaluate
  • Ensuring the College's internal mailing lists are accurate and up to date
  • Support professional services departments across the university in shaping and delivering their communication activities, to ensure the consistent and accurate sharing of key business messages to defined internal audiences
  • To act as an ambassador for the CMR, promoting our planned outcomes and audiencefocused, integrated and multichannel approach
  • Ensure activity is planned in line with departmental planning tools
  • Own, develop and contribute to the relevant processes and ways of working to support successful content production, communications and campaigning planning and delivery
  • Provide insight and data to the strategic communications team which will inform communications and campaign planning, reporting, evaluation and optimisation
  • Provide informal training and support for the others in CMR to aid their daytoday work with internal stakeholders
  • Support the delivery of the CMR strategy
  • You will be required to undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required
To be successful in being appointed to this role, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a corporate communications role in a communications or press office setting, ideally within the Higher Education sector
  • Experience writing news stories, features and explainers, including subbing content provided by others
  • Capability in handling stakeholders with competing demands or difficult issues in a tactful and diplomatic manner
  • Capability in planning and delivering a content calendar using content from multiple sources
