Are you a SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a new role in Barnes, Wandsworth?


Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a SEN School based in Barnes, Wandsworth starting immediately.

This is a full time, long-term role for the full academic year with a potential to go permanent uponreview. The daily rate for the position will be between £80 to £90 dependant on experience.


The School:


The SEN School is 'Outstanding' Ofsted rated providing education for both primary and secondary students aged between 4 to 19 years old.

The needs of the students include Autism and Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties however, some students may possessadditional needs. All staff have extensive knowledge in a range of strategies including TEACCH, PECS, Attention Autism and MAKATON.

The school consists of 215 students across the Lower School and Upper School with all students holding an Education, Healthand Care Plan (EHCP).

The school is easily accessible by public transport and has free parking on site and on local roads.


The Position:


You will be working as a SEN Teaching Assistant within their Lower School assisting in a mixed KS2 class of Year 5 and 6 students.

You will be working 1:1 with a student with Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties with the aim in developing their abilityand raising attainment academically within the classroom.

Also, you will be providing support alongside Therapists during therapy sessions.

You will gain the opportunity to work alongside experienced Class Teachers and training will be provided in areas thatcan aid your development.

To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Hold previous experience working within SEN
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
