Permit Coordinator - Civil Engineering

We are looking to appoint a Full-time (Temporary cover)

Permit Coordinator, to support the Permit Manager with raising permits and administration duties. The role will be based at our head office in Chadwell St Mary, Essex. Monday - Friday, 08:00hrs - 17:00hrs (on site attendance is essential).


Main accountabilities of the Role:


  • Where necessary submit requests for early starts ensuring that valid and detailed reasons are provided with the request to minimise the likelihood of rejection.
  • Ensure that permits are updated at the various stages of the process, including final closure and providing accurate final dimensions to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure effective liaison with other colleagues, services and appropriate outside agencies in order to facilitate efficient working.
  • Assist as requested in the preparation of reports, briefings and providing statistics in any aspect of the service.
  • Respond to changes in legislation, statutory requirements, codes of practice, British and European standards to ensure that practices, procedures and working methods to ensure continued compliance.

Your experience will include:


  • Proven experience of street works highways activity NRSWA knowledge as well as knowledge of other relevant legislation.
  • Local authority experience (Thurrock, Essex, Herts preferred)
An understanding of current NRSWA legislation.

  • COP Knowledge (Red Book).
Proven administrative experience.

  • Experience using MSOffice packages including MSWord, MSExcel, MSProject.
An understanding of software packages used for highway network management.

  • Experience using Street Manager is desirable.
  • Good communication skills written and verbal.
  • Good organisation skills and time management.

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 8 months


Salary:
£18,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
