Job Description Summary:

The business systems improvement leader will initially be responsible for developing and supporting the delivery of the Oracle Whittle blueprint to Dowty.

The role will lead the development of the business cut over plan and will support the readiness of the business team against that plan.

Post go live the role will focus on ensuring the design intent is met as it is embedded in to the business.

The role will act as a focal point of business support for use of the system and will partner with the business to identify & scope improvements.

The role will act on behalf of the site to partner with the ERP enterprise team to manage change and ensure readiness of the business before deployment of these improvements.


Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Support business readiness in relation to Oracle Whittle implementation. Lead the development of the cutover plan to ensure go live has mínimal disruption to the business.
  • Overall responsibility to ensure the Oracle Whittle solution is fit for purpose for the Dowty business and that business processes are overhauled to support the new system.
  • Monitoring system compliance against design intent and working with the business to develop a project pipeline of improvement opportunities using lean tools.
  • Be the Dowty representative on the Oracle Whittle UK change control board to ensure Dowty views are represented on any proposed change.
  • Project manage enhancement and upgrade deployment to ensure business sign off before being deployed to the business.
  • Contributes towards strategy development for Dowty Business Systems, and ensures delivery of improvement projects for the business by partnering with onsite DT teams and Enterprise ERP teams
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems within the business systems.
  • Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
  • Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience post go live, lead a support strategy that ensures the system is absorbed in standard work.
  • Data driven approach to identify trends of the presented issues and work with the business to help resolve.
  • May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.
  • Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Required Qualifications & Characteristics:


  • Strong knowledge of Dowty Oracle Whittle blueprint
  • Excellent communication, organizational and documentation skills.
  • Excellent end to end business process understanding
  • A proven ability to work effectively and sensitively in multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience of working and influencing senior teams
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
