Automation Service Engineer - Knowsley, Prescot
£35,000 - £42,000 per annum basic depending upon experience + Overtime + On Call Rates + Annual Company Bonus Scheme (Potential earning opportunity Circa £55,000 per annum)
Monday to Friday - Days

The opportunity:


An exciting opportunity to join a well established engineering firm, serving various Utilities sites and Manufacturing plants throughout the North West.


Job description:


Reporting to the Operations Drive Service Manager, your role will be to support the maintenance and repair of critical Variable Speed Drive (VSDs) equipment and associated control equipment.


Main duties and responsibilities:
Your routine duties may vary, but will be expected to:

  • Minimise downtime and maximise operating effectiveness and efficiency
  • Working onsite in Knowsley and then going out to visit Customer sites across the North West of the UK as required
  • Effective fault finding on critical Variable Speed Drive (VSDs) equipment and controls
  • Carrying out repair, improvement and planned maintenance work on production Variable Speed Drive (VSDs) equipment
  • Compliance with health, safety and environmental policy with the ability to carry out Risk Assessments and compile Method Statements
  • Effective logging and documentation
  • Carry out change and swap out, upgrade and renewal of equipment
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are correctly stored and maintained

Skills and experience:

  • Good understanding of the Electro-Mechanical Industry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Time served or have at least five years commercial industrial experience
  • Desired
  • Previous experience with Variable Speed Drive (VSDs) or PLCs
  • Essential
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Essential
