We are going through an exciting period of change as we plan to transition all of our existing 3 sites, to a new, purpose-built facility in Gartcosh.
The move is a key part of securing our long-term future in Scotland, serving the best customers in the industry.
As part of the Engineering Team the SHE Department play a vital role in creating and maintaining a safe working environment.
This new role, will help to deliver our Company's strategic priority of 'Safety First' through owning and driving health and safety activities on site.
Responsibilities:
- Rolemodel expected Health & Safety behaviours and championing health and safety on site
- Promote hazard and near miss reporting on site and lead feedback and improvement activities
- Produce and review risk assessments and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Carry out workplace, equipment and employee risk assessments, including DSE
- Support accident investigation, incidents and near misses; identifying immediate and root causes and corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
- Coordinate Health Surveillance within the business
- Undertake stock checks of personnel protective equipment
- Undertake workplace inspections and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Liaise with preferred suppliers to arrange inspection of safety critical equipment and maintain records
- Support Health and Safety Training initiatives, identify training needs and maintain SHE training records as required e.g., manual handling, safety briefings etc
- Produce reports as required to present status, issues and areas of risk, improvements etc
- Maintain Health & Safety systems to ensure accurate compliance record keeping
- Monitor and analyse site safety performance ready for communications (KPIs)
- Support Head of SHE/SHE Manager in developing key policies
- The role is primarily based at Bridge of Allan but may require some travel to our other sites in Kirkintilloch before we all transition to Gartcosh from 2024.
