What is the role of Autism Secondary Teaching Assistant - ASD Specialism TA?

Your main responsibility as Autism Secondary Teaching Assistant will be to work in groups and 1:1 with secondary aged children with low to high functioning autism; developing communication skills, supporting progression and independence through sensory play/ learning and various specialised curriculum and resources.

What are we looking for?

Aspiring Pastoral Workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, SALTs, Counsellors, and Social Workers
A Passion for working with children with autism
Ideally previous experience supporting children with autism in any environment; personal, education or care
Personable and caring personality

As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for the enrichment of special needs childrens education, tasked with enhancing the school experience of the young people at this school.
