Due to significant funding, we are looking for a Doctor's Assistant to join our friendly and dynamic CAMHS team in Brighton.


You will be working in collaboration with non-medical members of the clinical team to help relieve workload and ensure smooth functioning of the team.


This is a brand-new position ideal for someone who wants to proactively contribute to improving our service and make a real difference to our service users.

The postholder will be providing high-quality administrative support to the consultants, doctors in training and the wider clinical team.


Your duties would include but are not limited to:

  • Providing a confidential first point of contact for face to face and telephone enquiries from a broad spectrum of people
  • Managing the electronic health record and retrieving Care Notes when necessary
  • Typing up various correspondence and documents
  • Taking meeting minutes within a multidisciplinary team and checking actions are complete
  • Dealing with various enquiries on behalf of the Clinical Team by telephone and taking appropriate action
  • Following up referrals to other teams/specialist opinions sent by medical team e.g. physical health, forensic, solicitors
  • Providing cover as appropriate for other Doctors Assistants and administrative staff

REQUIREMENTS:

In order to be a successful Doctor's Assistant in our team, you will have:

  • Education to A-Level standard
  • A willingness to develop your knowledge and skills and undertake relevant training
  • The ability to prioritise workload
  • The ability to communicate to a high standard and establish relationships in a multidisciplinary team
  • The ability to work on your own initiative
  • Strong organisational skills

It would be advantageous if you have:

  • Experience writing reports
  • Exposure working in mental healthcare or similar
Your work should normally be done during the core hours of 9am and 5pm.

However, to ensure alignment with the Direct Clinical Care time of the clinician's flexibility from the core hours may be required, determined locally.
