Description

The Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering are seeking a Research Associate to join a cutting-edge project developing reconfigurable microwave metamaterials using Aerosol Jet Printing (AJP) technology.


  • Investigate which materials are most appropriate for printing reconfigurable metasurfaces, including inks and PDLC mixtures, from both a fabrication and electromagnetic perspective
  • Develop novel metamaterial structures utilising the advantages of AJP through simulation, fabrication and measurement
  • Produce and characterise a reconfigurable metamaterial capable of controlling the reflected phase at 30 GHz


Applicants who accept a conditional offer of appointment must meet the requirement of the right to work in the UK and complete a basic background check.

The background check, essential for the nature of the position, will be conducted by DSTL (Defence Science & Technology Laboratory) or the UK Government.
