You will provide general tax assurance services including the coordination of Senior Accounting Officer compliance, undertaking annual reviews of Tax Management Policy Standard and published Tax Strategy as well as assessing the impact of new tax legislation,guidance, and consultation documents for the Santander Group in the UK.

To be successful in this role its vital that your able build a strong working relationship with external advisors to ensure that claims for Research & Development Expenditure Credits and documentation for Transfer Pricing is prepared in a timely manner.


The difference you'll make
:


  • Working with external advisors, ensure that claims for Research & Development Expenditure Credits and documentation for Transfer Pricing is prepared in a timely manner.
  • Reviewing and monitoring of tax risk and controls seeking to continuously improve tax governance
  • Coordinating Senior Accounting Officer compliance and undertaking annual reviews of Tax Management Policy Standard and published Tax Strategy.
  • Assessing the impact of new tax legislation, guidance and consultation documents for the Santander Group in the UK and supporting the changes necessary to ensure that Santander is compliant from the relevant date.

What you'll bring
:


  • CTA, ATT, AAT, ACA, CIMA or equivalent qualified with thorough knowledge of Corporation Tax legislation and practice.
  • Ability to explain technical tax concepts concisely, clearly and in a nonjargonistic manner in verbal and written format.

It would also be nice for you to have
:


  • Professional and credible communicator ability to forge good working relationships at all levels, including tax authorities and external advisors
  • Good time management skills with a proven ability to deliver results in a proactive 'selfstarter' manner.
  • Thorough knowledge of Bank Levy, Bank Surcharge and Stamp tax legislation and practice.
  • Knowledge gained from within a Financial Services Retail Banking organisation or Financial Services exposure within Big 4 Accountancy Practice.
