Scottish Water has an exciting opportunity within our Transformation Team, for a Business Administration Modern Apprentice with the opportunity to extend this to include a Programme Management Qualification.

This is a Fixed Term opportunity starting with a

  • 2year Business Admin Modern Apprenticeship Further 2 or 3 years qualification in Programme Management


As a Modern Apprentice at Scottish Water, you'll be joining one of Scotland's most critical businesses and be part of the team who are working to ensure that Scottish Water transforms our operation, to keep pace with the demands of modern life, customer expectations and environmental standards.

What will you be doing?


You will receive support and development to work towards and complete a Business Administration Modern Apprenticeship and progressing to attain a further Programme Management qualification.


You'll be based within the Transformation Team, providing administrative support within this exciting area of our business, which focuses on ensuring that SW is fit for the future, by delivering a range of business improvements over the coming years.

These improvements will range from process enhancements, digital improvements, enhanced data and insights all in support of improved service delivery to our customers.

You will support Business Change, by learning how to deliver change using various methods, in a fast-paced environment.

Working with many teams across the business and our delivery partners, you will be involved in planning and designing change, how we communicate, how we engage and prepare our people, and ultimately how we deliver the end result, ensuring costs are met and benefits realised.


Your main learning will come from gaining knowledge from your colleagues and various tailored opportunities, aligned to your chosen apprenticeship modules.

Throughout your Modern Apprenticeship, assessments will be carried out by a qualified assessor, supported by the Scottish Water Team.

Additionally, you will engage with a wider pool of Scottish Water Modern Apprentices, through arranged activities

These roles will be based at our Stepps, Glasgow Site, with some flexibility needed to travel to other locations.

Who are we looking for?


We're looking for people who are self-motivated, driven, team players who are well organised, good problem solvers and have a positive attitude and the ability to work on your own initiative.


You'll have three National 4 or 5 Qualifications (English & Maths are advantageous but not essential) and it's preferable that you also have two Higher Qualifications.

It would also be great if you have a good understanding of Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and a commitment to learning and developing new skills.


What you'll get:
The starting salary for this role is £17,663 per annum.
