Age UK is recruiting a
Digital Product Manager to join our delivery focused Digital and Technology team. This is a newly created post will play a pivotal role during a critical transition year for the charity.


2023 is an exciting time for Age UK,we are developing a new organisational strategy and enhancing the digital experiences that we offer to older people, their friends and family, our local partners, and other supporters will be key.


This role focuses on the main website that has millions of visitors a year and plays a key role in our wider digital eco-system.

You will also have oversight of the microsites that we offer our local Age UK partners, Age Co which is Age UKs limited tradingsubsidiary and the website of Age International, all sit on the same Optimizely technology.

We are looking for a talented person who isn't afraid to get stuck in but can easily switch to being strategic.


This role is about developing clear product strategies and roadmaps, finding synergy and creating value for our users and the organisation.

Age UK is a large and complex charity, so you need a collaborative mind-set and stakeholder management experience.
Communicating and managing expectations will be something you love doing.


We have a few external agencies that help us develop our main site, you will be the key point of contact and establish good relationships to make sure we create the best digital experiences for our audiences.


You will be part of an ambitious Digital team and play an instrumental role in shaping how we manage digital products at Age UK.

The successful person for this role will be data-driven and will champion Agile ways of working and be a source of knowledgeon product management, helping to inspire others and embed best practice.

This role is offered on a Hybrid / London contract and will include occasional travel to our modern co-working hub in East London.

You will have:


  • Proven ability working as a Digital product manager or owner in an agile environment
  • Experience of creating product visions and strategies working with a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience in using product management methodologies in different contexts
  • Experience of the full product lifecycle and a good understanding of different team roles and activities required for successful delivery
  • Experience of setting key metrics and monitoring the success of products
  • Experience of mapping out complex user journeys
  • Experience of analysis and refining requirements (functional and nonfunctional)
  • Proven ability of managing product documentation such as backlogs, customer journeys, use cases, user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Experience of using data and insights to inform decision making
  • Experience of facilitating Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, standups and retrospectives
  • Sound knowledge of UX principles and accessibility
  • Team player approach with the ability to build constructive relationships and work collaboratively with a wide range of people
  • Ability to resolve complex situations and deal sensitively with differences of opinion
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to be proactive, assertive, resilient and convincing
  • Product management training and certification
  • Ability to see the bigger picture and provide strategic thinking that supports leaders with decisionmaking Experience in managing or mentoring others
