Community Ecologist - Future Nature Wildlife Trust Consultancy:

This is a wonderful opportunity to make a real impact for both nature and people across a variety of projects in our three counties.

We are looking for someone from within the conservation or ecological consultancy sector, who has broad knowledge of ecology and a range of survey and field skills, and is able to inspire others about how to enhance biodiversity and put nature into recovery within their communities.


You will have excellent communication skills, able to deliver practical advice, as well as sharing your knowledge of species and habitats, and the value of ecosystem services.

You will provide training, guidance and motivation to individuals, local groups, companies and organisations, across a variety of private and public initiatives, to channel their enthusiasm and efforts into positive and lasting outcomes for wildlife.


In the role you will be comfortable and confident in building relationships with a variety of stakeholders from volunteer groups to developers, able to give presentations and talks, co-ordinating and chairing meetings, and advising people from all walks of life.

The outcomes will include the generation of professional quality reports and practical guidance, high quality data on species and habitats, mitigation, monitoring and management plans.

Salary:
£27,000 - £29,500 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Flexibility in working hours for seasonal field surveys and community events. Time off in lieu (TOIL) support policy in place.

Based:
Hybrid working. Mix of home, site and office working throughout Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

Future Nature Wildlife Trust Consultancy provides ecological consultancy services to clients ranging from domestic homeowners, farmers, residential developers, public sector organisations, commercial businesses, utilities, estates and landscape-scale infrastructure projects. We also specialise in producing nature recovery plans, to support a variety of landowners, from both the public and private sectors, with their ambitions to enhance biodiversity on their land. The services we provide are chargeable, and all profits from our work are reinvested back into Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust (BBOWT).

Adjustments could include us providing the questions in an alternative format, providing extra time for assessments.

We are also very happy to make adjustments for interview, which could include aspects such as lighting, physical access or simply making us aware when you arrive where it would be best for you to sit.
