The role of a Deputy Manager is to provide leadership, development, and direction across the service ensuring that the team provides the people we support with the service they need to lead a good life and achieve the things that are important to them andtheir families.


Role Duties:


  • Experience of supporting people who have mental health needs or learning disabilities to become more active in their community
  • Experience of Key/Link Working with individuals and of enabling people with learning disability or mental health needs to take positive risks in the lives
  • Experience of mentoring/supervising/coaching others Experience of building great relationships which promotes inclusion for people with learning disabilities or mental health support needs
  • Person centered working & developing person centered support plans with individuals
  • Enabling people with learning disabilities or mental health support needs to take positive risks in their lives.
  • Experiencing of leading, delegating and managing teams

Essential Skills:


  • Understand the challenges that are likely to be faced by many people with disabilities or mental health support needs
  • Knowledge of safeguarding
  • Be receptive and demonstrate a commitment to relevant training / continuous professional development.
  • A proactive learner someone keen to learn new and better ways to do things. Someone who learns from mistakes and is open to feedback.
  • Management qualification or relevant qualification in Social Care Diploma level 3 or
  • Able to role model great practice Able to inspire and motivate others to build their confidence to try new things
  • Able to organise self and others to get things done with a high level of attention to detail Able to work on own initiative and be a good team player
  • Able to manage money and record spending Empathetic able to put oneself in the shoes of others and understand the need to deliver support in a sensitive respectful way that gives others power and control.
