An exciting opportunity has arisen as part of the expansion of the Endoscopy service for a Team Leader to lead our James Cook Administration Team.


Based within the Endoscopy Unit opening at The James Cook University Hospital, we are looking for the right individual to take on this exciting role to provide leadership and guidance to our expanding team to support the growth and development of the service.


Working alongside the Gastroenterology Resource Coordinator and Team Leader at the Friarage site, the post holder will provide leadership and guidance to the Friarage team to provide comprehensive, effective and professional administrative support to the Gastroenterology Directorate.


You'll be meticulous and organised and able to manage your own workload whilst being a role model for the Trust values of being Respectful, Supportive and Caring both to your patients and other colleagues.


The team leader role is pivotal to ensuring our administration team work productively whilst ensuring that our patients have an outstanding experience.

Leading by example in terms of providing an outstanding support service to our patients and clinicians from initial booking through to arrival and any subsequent follow-up the team leader role will also be required to;

  • Provide suitable motivation and direction to the wider team of Endoscopy Administration Clerks (who book procedures) and Endoscopy Administration Assistants (provide reception and administrative support)
  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure that all appropriate KPI's as agreed with the General Manager/Service Manager are met providing an outstanding service to our patients.
  • Identify development needs of individuals and the wider team. Provide training and development of the team to ensure that they deliver an outstanding patientfacing service. Leading by example when dealing with complex and sometimes distressed patients.
  • Take responsibility for validating the PTL and ensuring department compliance with other data processes.
  • Take the lead in organising and delivering team/departmental meetings.

After you complete this one and a half day of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.
