Description
To provide a professional front of house and telephone service.

To answer enquiries, receive and relay messages, both in person and on the telephone, from patients and hospital staff, using knowledge of hospital procedures to maintain a professional front of house service.

To meet the needs of the service of all users and take into account special requirements including communication impairments.


You will be required to assist with the set up and close down of the department for the core working hours.

You will be tasked with preparation of the patients notes and documentation needed for clinics and during the clinic sessions you will receive patients into the department, electronically check them in and on completion of their appointment session you will reconcile and book any appointment requested as appropriate.

To recognise that the post holder will have access to confidential, personal and/or sensitive information which must not be disclosed to any unauthorised individual or agency

Liaise with patients, outside agencies and other service/departments within the Trust

To actively participate in the staff appraisal process


To be familiar with relevant Operational, Personnel, Health and Safety Policies and Procedures including Fire, COSHH, No smoking and alcohol policies and to keep your training up to date through our Essential Training programme.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital is located in Calow, Chesterfield, which is situated on a green field site on the edge of the Peak District National Park.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital was officially opened by the queen in 1985 and since then it has continued to expand and modernise, currently holding approximately 550 beds.

We provide acute in-patient and out-patient care for Chesterfield and the surrounding rural area of North Derbyshire, serving a population of approximately 350,000 people.

We are currently rated GOOD by the CQC.
