A leading local authority is currently recruiting experienced Residential Practitioners who hold Level 3 qualifications in social care to join their team at Rotherham.
You will staff a new 2-bed residential home based in Rotherham.They are the local authority of the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham in South Yorkshire, England.
They are a metropolitan district council, one of four in South Yorkshire and one of 36 in the metropolitan counties of England.
Reporting to a deputy manager and registered manager, the post holder will play a huge role in the delivery of a range of in-house residential provisions for children and young people here in Rotherham.
This new residential home will build on practice from their current residential homes, which are judged "Good" and "Outstanding" by Ofsted.
The role comes with a local authority pension and 29 days' annual leave, as well as a 2- to 4-week induction period to ensure the post holder is trained and supported prior to the home opening.
About the Role
You will be a committed member of the team, seeking to inspire and support some of their most complex young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver highquality care to young people in a safe environment.
- Promote and protect and welfare of lookedafter children throughout the local borough
- Prepare and carry out key work for individual children and young people
- Encourage children and young people to influence the decisions that affect them
- Create a joinedup service as part of a team that centres on the child's safety
- Carry out everyday activities to run a home, from mealtimes to report writing
- Attend meetings, training and supervision to further your knowledge and skills
- Create a safe and nurturing environment where a Rotherham young person can thrive.
Required skills:
- Level 3 registered practitioner with experience working within a residential setting.
- If not Level 3 registered, the post holder will be an experienced caregiver with skills and experience that match the job requirements (This might be experience earned in a residential or similar setting, whether that's statutory or nonstatutory)
- The local authority is committed to supporting L3 qualification
