Description

This is a full time (10PA) consultant post, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the successful applicant.

The appointee will be required to have an appropriate level of training and experience in paediatric and perinatal Pathology.

The post holder will be expected to provide advice on the diagnosis, staging and prognosis of patients suffering from disease.

Reporting and interpretation of specimen submitted to the department in line with RCPath guidelines.

Take joint responsibility with colleagues for quality assurance within the department including taking part in national external quality assurance programmes, where appropriate.

Work with relevant clinical teams in the provision of comprehensive Cellular Pathology service to the users, including advice regarding appropriate specimen collection and investigations, interpretation of reports and the preparation of policies, procedures and guidelines.

To be jointly responsible for the supervision, training and management of any junior staff in the department. Please refer to the job description for further information.
