What does the role look like?


Collins Aerospace Systems 'Wolverhampton' is looking to recruit additional NDT Level - Magnetic Particle Inspectors (MPI) to join the Chemical Processing department.

The Chemical process facility is a key operational area within the Collins Wolverhampton business. This is a 'Best in Class' facility with extensive NADCAP certifications and significant investment in modern equipment.

Shift working and some overtime will be required.


What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?

  • Primary role of nondestructively testing aerospace components (Functional & system tests).
  • Cleaning / degreasing.
  • Other NDT testing and techniques (As required).
  • Operator Self Inspection (OSI) responsibilities.


  • Documentation

  • Adherence to quality control and compliance systems.
  • Materials movement within the cell.
  • First Line Maintenance and TPM requirements.
  • Development of personal skills and capabilities.
  • Support for continuous improvements
  • Problem solving support for basic technical issues.
  • Carrying out all activities in accordance with the EH&S procedures.

Essential skills:


  • 23 years NDT Inspection experience in an Aerospace Manufacturing environment.
  • Qualified to EN 4179 Level 2 in Magnetic Particle Inspection (preferred).
  • Visual acuity and Colour perception.

Desirable skills:


  • Quality 1st mindset
  • Excellent attention to detail.


  • Good motivation

  • Focussed on 'On time delivery' with willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel.
