Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (Term time only)

AK Teaching is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sports Coach with a passion for supporting learners with special educational needs (SEN) to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant at a SEN school in Morpeth.

This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals with a background in sports coaching to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in facilitating general classroom activities and supporting learners with SEN.
Provide guidance and support to students with a range of special educational needs and challenging behaviours.
Collaborate with teaching staff to create inclusive learning environments tailored to individual student needs.
Utilise sports coaching skills and techniques to engage students and promote physical activity and wellbeing.
Offer 1:1 support to students as required, addressing specific learning goals and objectives.
Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to enhance the overall learning experience.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with learners with autism, ADHD, and other special educational needs is advantageous.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse learning styles and needs.
Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to supporting students' academic and personal development.
Flexible approach to work and willingness to assist with various classroom tasks beyond sports coaching duties.
