Proactive are currently recruiting for an Operations / Supply Chain Manager start work in Cambridge Immediately.

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a market leader in the design and manufacture of high quality medical equipment.

Purpose of Role:To manage Manufacturing, Planning, and Procurement of the Product Family at the Cambridge site. Formulate and implement manufacturing policies and programmes to maintain and improve the competitive position and asset velocity efficiency of the operation. Direct and coordinate Production activities so that approved products are manufactured on schedule and meet Quality Standards and cost objectives. Oversee all Supply Chain activity and Manage projects such as facility footprint utilisation and/or moves, outsourcing strategies, capital expenditures, Lean/Six Sigma initiatives, etc.

Main Responsibilities:

Managing the Operations team with a mindset of coaching, development, and continuous improvement
Develops a worldclass organisation in operations and further develops the production area of excellence
Working with site leadership team and group Global Supply Chain team.
Ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations along with inhouse rules and guidelines
Oversee the budget performance for labour, manufacturing, maintenance, logistics overheads and capital expenditure
Responsible for the longterm workforce planning and development based on production strategy
Creating production goals and indicators on the basis of the production strategy and the lead KPIs, and uses them to manage the production areas
Ensure the supply chain policies, procedures and systems support the drive for operational excellence and the Production Systems program
Incorporate Lean transformations using Lean methodologies (HPS)
Responsible for driving cost reduction initiatives across operations
Participate in strategic initiatives, manage operational risks and support best practice sharing across the global supply chain
Developing strategy for Operations with the Global Head of Operations and ensure it is aligned with the business vision and future growth

Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:

Strong track record within an Operations/Supply Chain management role within manufacturing (electronics / mechanical manufacturing is preferred)
Proven at leading, managing and developing teams. Demonstrable leadership skills and experience
Confident at engaging with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders and suppliers within a functional organisation. Excellent communication skills
Welldeveloped influencing, negotiation and collaboration skills
Experience with production planning and scheduling
Knowledge and experience of Lean Six Sigma methodology and management
Good organisational, planning and project management skills
Qualification, degree level, in a Manufacturing or Engineering discipline or equivalent working experience
Numeracy, I.T and data analysis skills

Working experience of SAP
Sound knowledge of EHS
Leading new product introduction: From protype concept to mass production
