Position SummaryMagellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor.
Full Time Permanent Contract
hours per week.
Job location:
Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB.
Unionised site - works in partnership with Unite the Union.
The job holder will be responsible for the safe operation of the plant.
Ensuring the production plan can be achieved whilst escalating all issues and developing plans and strategies to overcome obstacles preventing the plan to be achieved.
The job holder will be responsible for presenting results on a daily basis as well as attending and chairing team briefs, promoting a positive can do attitude, problem solving, promoting the right behaviours and using lean tools.

Essential Responsibilities
Ensure a safe working environment & Practices are maintained and compliance to site HSE standards for self, subordinates and visitors.
Will ensure all subordinates are trained and competent in using the fore mentioned assessments.
Responsible for completing all accident investigations and approving appropriate actions.
Responsible for ensuring all quality standards, procedures and SOP's are followed at all times. All failures should be reported using the quality management system.
Will participate and lead the MRB process ensuring attendance and actions are completed in a timely manner.
Will also be required to use problem solving tools such as 5Y and 8D and will be responsible to sign off the process when complete ensuring all actions are in place and stability is established.
Will participate and support the businesses in both internal and external audits.Responsible for ensuring the production schedule is adhered to and executed in line with MOS requirements.
Responsible for escalating and reporting all blockers to the production plan.
Where necessary the job holder will be responsible for developing a plan to overcome the blockers to the production plan.
Responsible for presenting production KPI's on a daily basis and to understand failures.All failures are to be supported with recovery plans developed by the job holder and signed off by their line manager.
Responsible for understanding and owning hours/ units cleared V's planned and attended.Responsible for measuring OEE and work collectively to increase OEE at all times.
Analyse data to make informed decisions that benefit the operation of the plant.
Ensure the standard work document and process confirmation checks are completed daily. The job holder is responsible for auditing this process daily for compliance.
Ensure sufficient resource with the correct skills is in place to execute the production plan.
Develop and execute training plans to ensure the business has the correct skills within the relevant areas to achieve the production plan.
Liaise with other departments to ensure successful running of the overall plant to be involved in resolving of process problems in conjunction with the Quality department and or escalation to Line Manger as required.
Will be responsible for ensuring back to work and fit for work interviews are completed within 24 hours of return to work.
Ensure new employees receive team /plant induction and receive their required PPE.
Ensure all employees are treated with respect in a fair and consistent manner.
Escalate and inform line manager of any employee relation concerns / issues which unable to handle.
The job holder will be responsible for recruitment within their local area. They will work closely to the recruitment team and complete interviews and skills tests.
The job holder will be responsible for completing probation reviews with employees. Ensuring positive and negative feedback where required is delivered in a professional and constructive way. All negative feedback should be accompanied by a support plan.
Responsible for participating and conducting in investigations.
Responsible for chairing disciplinary investigations in line with the company disciplinary policy.
Perform visual inspection of work area to derive a 6S score daily and ensure the work area is maintained to 6S standards.
Complete 6's audits in line with company policy.Champion continues improvement activities within the relevant plant and present findings and results to team members.
