Customer Service Assistant Required - Immediate Starts Available
Ontrak Recruitment & Training are currently seeking committed and outgoing applicants to join our valued and long-standing clients on the Railways.
Job Role:
Gateline Assistant
Location:
Chichester Station (PO19 8DL)
Pay rate:
£ per hour
Hours and Days:
Vary between Monday - Sunday. Shifts will vary between the hours of 0500am and 0200am, 4-12 hour shifts.

What does a Gateline assistant do?- Provide an impeccable customer service experience to customers and passengers on the Gates.
- Be the face of the company by wearing the correct uniform and ID always.
- Work alongside the Revenue Protection Team to assist in the checking of travel tickets and passes.
- Direct passengers to the ticket vending machine to avoid lengthy queues forming at the ticket office.
- Carry out Bus Liaison duties during engineering works.
- Ensure that the safety of others and the area around them is clear from obstruction.
- Report any faults with the Gates to a supervisor.
- Report any antisocial behaviour with little disruption to other passengers as per the Railway Byelaws
Essential Requirements
- You must hold valid ID to work in the UK and have a full national insurance number.
- You will be required to pass a drug and alcohol screening
- You must be outgoing, confident and be able to make station announcements
- Pass a Listening and Concentration Assessment in our head office (Greenwich, London)
- Available to complete a 5 day paid training course including theory and practical assessment held in our head office (Greenwich, London)
ALL OUR ROLES ARE BASED WORKING IN A RAILWAY ENVIRONMENT, THESE ARE CLASSED AS 'SAFETY CRITICAL' THEREFORE YOU MUST BE COMFORTABLE AND ABLE TO DO SO.
THIS ROLE MAY INCLUDE BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:
Passenger Ramp Assistance (ramps weigh up to 15kg therefore you must be comfortable lifting and deploying these):
Passenger Luggage Assistance:

Working on station platforms amongst crowds

Salary:
£12.67-£16.47 per hour
