REED are extremely excited to be recruiting for an established and recognised family owned lighting manufacturer, based out of Manchester.

This is a multi-national organisation and an integral chance to join a business, in which you can shape and grow thetop to bottom supply chain process on a wider scale.

This is a truly fantastic opportunity, for someone wishing to continually develop their supply chain journey, and bring their prior experience to the forefront.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Head of Supply Chain will oversee and be responsible for:

  • Direct involvement and evolution of the supply chain processes, on a global scale
  • Rationalise and analyse current areas for change and restructure
  • Overseeing the design and manufacturing of products
  • Writing up product specifications
  • Sourcing appropriate catalogue and choice of foreign factories
  • Managing the import of finished products back into the UK
  • Transfer of products through the warehousing system
  • Ordering of correct quantities
  • Introduce new processes and structures, meeting the new demands and requirements, stemming from Brexit and the COVID pandemic

As such, the following experience is necessary:

  • Prior equivalent experience as a Head of Supply Chain, with a deep understanding of the supply chain process, and a clear focus on success and the necessary KPI's needed to measure and drive business improvement
  • Demonstrate experience and track record of supply chain improvements, within B2B and or B2C business, importing goods from the FE and global shipping
  • Understanding of and ability to work with a small to medium scale business
  • Import and export experience on a global scale including WTO terms of trade
  • Experience of Far East sourcing, including evidence of implementing a fluent and coherent tiered supplier strategy, delivering improved lead times, MOQ's and or margins
  • Systems experienced and computer literate, with preferable experience of implementing and utilising Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI, Slimstock and specialist supply chain and order fulfilment software
  • Experience of lean techniques such as, Six Sigma and Kaizen
  • Past record of successfully delivering key projects on time and within budget


Please note, the role has a strong emphasis on demonstrating large scale ability to liaise with suppliers and consolidate factories within China.

Key experience in this area is key for this role.

As part of the role, you will be given the following:
£60,000 - £70,000 salary
