The successful candidate will, amongst other duties, be required to: Work in the molecular and immunohistochemistry sections of the department Co-ordinate the activities of clerical/administration, MLA staff to support the molecular pathology services.

Participate in the reception, preparation and documentation of specimens for immuno histochemical and genomic testing in accordance with laboratory policies and protocols Participate in specimen processing and the production of histology sections for microscopic examination, immunohistochemistry and genomic testing.

This includes, microtomy, staining and microscopy Input test requests, including tests, patient demographics, requesting clinician and location for report onto the laboratory computer system in a timely fashion in order to maintain efficient workflow and laboratory turnaround times and taking into account the urgency of the request Participate in the training and teaching of trainee Healthcare Scientists, MLAs and other healthcare professionals Communicate across centres both regionally and nationally to ensure a smooth referral process for samples Undertake and maintain CPD to ensure up-to-date knowledge as directed by their line managers
