Interim Quality & Safety Lead, Medical and Unscheduled Care (MUSC)


Medical and Unscheduled Care Portfolio (MUSC) is delighted to offer a secondment opportunity for an experienced manager providing interim cover to lead on the management of adverse events and the handling of complaints and feedback.


As part of the Nursing Team supporting the MUSC Senior Leadership Team (SLT) the role of Quality & Safety Lead will work within a clinical and care governance framework promoting a culture of quality performance, assurance, improvement and risk across the Portfolio.

Working with relevant stakeholders and staff groups to ensure the development of a patient safety and continuous quality improvement culture.


The post holder will be responsible for the continuing development of and facilitated involvement of staff in relation to NHS Grampian's Clinical Care and Governance Framework and the Plan for the Future.

The role will be pivotal in engaging staff to improve quality, patient safety, staff safety, assurance and performance of the organisation, particularly in relation to adverse events, complaints and management of risk.


The terms and conditions will be based on the appointee's substantive contract, or Band 8A (£53,513 - £57,767) if more favourable.

The secondment is available with immediate effect therefore applicants will require the flexibility to start at short notice and must have agreement from their substantive line manager before applying.

The interim Lead is anticipated to be in post for approximately nine months (March to November ?).
