Job Purpose

Provide a wide range of learning opportunities to engage adults in the community of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough

  • To promote social inclusion, engage adults in learning opportunities, improve skills levels.
  • To develop Basic Skills programs and deliver qualifications and accreditation opportunities to meet the priorities of the Key Strategic Outcomes of the Merthyr Tydfil Adult Community Learning (ACL) Partnership
  • To develop curriculum resources and appropriate accredited and nonaccredited learning that meets quality assurance processes, and in line with awarding body.
  • To support learners by helping individuals, communities and employers to gain access to the benefits of learning.
  • To promote the Welsh language
  • To liaise with and work in partnership with schools and a broad range of professionals and organisations within the statutory, nonstatutory and third sector
  • To disseminate good practice locally and nationally
  • Consult with partner agencies within the County Borough to develop partnership working and set targets in consultation.

All new applicants are required to complete a 10 hour online Welsh Work Course.

You will need to complete parts 1 and 2 of the course and must be able to evidence this prior to starting work with the Authority.
