A new opportunity has arisen for two full time Speciality PA posts to support our well established and expanding team within the Children's Hospital.

These positions will be based at the QMC Campus.

Working as part of a team the post-holders will provide high quality administrative service to consultants and their teams.

You will be a conscientious and enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational and communication skills and be well motivated and reliable.

You will be able to understand and accurately convey verbal and written information and be able to remain calm under pressure.

You will be able to work as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of a busy department.

The post holder will manage the day to day activities for a delegated number of consultants within the Childrens Hospital at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, in accordance with Government Access Targets and Trust's Access Policy.

Also ensuring that there is an efficient and effective use of available resources at all times.

They will co-ordinate the consultants clinics along with supporting the consultants in there day to day duties. The post holder will also play a key central role within the services and is required to work in close liaison with NHS colleagues, patients and the general public

Person specification

Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Minimum 3 GSCEs or equivalent to include English Language
  • NVQ level 3 in administration or equivalent
Desirable criteria

  • RSA III wordprocessing/text processing or equivalent
Experience

Essential criteria

  • Minimum of 2 years secretarial experience
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office
Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge of National RTT targets
  • Knowledge of hospital IT systems, e.g. Medway PAS, Notis. Winscribe
  • Previous experience of working in the NHS
Communication and relationship skills

Essential criteria

  • Must be able to clearly and accurately convey information verbally and in written format
  • Maintain confidentiality, sensitivity and empathy in communication with patients/colleagues
  • Can complete letters, forms, reports & tables using computerised technology from information collected

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
