An opportunity has arisen for a professional and highly organised person to join the Research Project Support Team within the Research & Development Department at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust.

This is a fixed term/secondment for 12 months to cover maternity leave.

The successful applicant will have a leading role being involved in supporting research teams through the research approvals process.

A key part of your role will be to support the set-up of NIHR portfolio studies, working closely with the Chief/ Principal Investigators and the delivery research teams.

You will ensure that projects are set up and approved in a timely and efficient manner and will have a leading role in supporting research teams through the HRA research approvals process.

Where UHNM is the sponsor they will specifically oversee the submission of projects through the National Research Ethics Service, Health Research Authority (HRA) and other regulatory bodies as appropriate.


In addition they will support the UHNM sponsored studies and specifically oversee the submission of projects through the National Research Ethics Service and other regulatory bodies as appropriate.


The successful applicant will have a degree/ Graduate Diploma or equivalent qualification, preferably in a Health related discipline or portfolio evidence of equivalent experience.

Knowledge of working within a Research or Education environment would be a distinct advantage, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


You must be highly motivated and have experience of working without close supervision and be able to multi-task within close deadlines.
