CSM are a leading manufacturer of precision sheet metal components used throughout the retail/shop fitting industry.

We are looking for a skilled Paintshop Supervisor to join this Chorley company. Each day brings a new exciting job for the powder & wet paint sprayers to work.

Job Purpose:
To organise and supervise the paint department team to ensure the work schedule is delivered to meet customer requirements. This includes both wet and powder coating services.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Organisation of all paint work to ensure it is available to the next stage of the process to ensure the work is delivered on time and in full to customer.
Ensure that all job requirements are clearly communicated to all staff
Ensure that all operators are competent in the use of machinery and equipment and have completed the Individual Training Programme for their particular area
Carry out departmental induction for all new members of staff
Supervise team members in duties, performance, discipline, attendance and development
Ensure all consumables use is monitored to ensure they are utilised efficiently and cost effectively and ordered correctly.
Ensure all job cards are filled in correctly and signed by the operative
Communicate effectively when dealing with managers, staff and other supervisors
Ensure that all employees are using Health & Safety/Personal Protective Equipment as necessary including Safety Boots, Overalls, masks, Gloves, etc
Ensure all work is completed as efficiently as possible to ensure maximum throughput for the department.
Ensure that the work area is kept tidy and that items are stored safely and securely. Any harmful substances must be locked in appropriate cabinets until required
Ensure adherence at all times to the Company's Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures and maintain compliance to appropriate standards.
Ensure all products leaving the department is of suitable quality and any quality issues are fully investigated with suitable corrective and preventative actions identified and completed.
Carry out work safely in the interests of other employees and themselves, in compliance with current legislation and Company Environmental, Health and Safety procedures including general housekeeping
Support the Production Manager in ensuring all work is completed in line with key measurables and that any potential improvements are communicated and explored.
Any other tasks associated with this role, which are suited to the individual's abilities and level of training as directed by the Production Manager
