Human Factors Engineer


Salary Range:
£40,000 to £50,000 per annum


Overtime:
Time and 1⁄2 after 37.5 hours


Hours: 37.5-hour week

Location:
Telford, Washington or Bristol


Permanent role working for aleading prime Defence design and manufacturingclient.


Human Factors Engineers arerequired with knowledge and experience of specialist technical knowledge to ensure that human factors aspects are integrated in all stages of design, review and operation across multiple manufacturing and engineering sites.


Due to expansion the client based in Telford, Washington or Bristol requires Human dynamic, leading Human Factors on a permanent basis
.

As a Human Factors Engineer you will be required to:


  • Integrate all stages of design, review and operation across multiple manufacturing and engineering sites
  • Work with both internal and external stakeholders across all engineering and project disciplines, using modern engineering techniques and toolsets.
  • Integrate Human Factors methods, including those involved in safety assessments.
  • Integrate Human Factors when designing products and processes.
  • Be a lead in all requirements, acceptance management, testing and evaluation
The Human Factors Engineer s hould have the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline with postgraduate HFI experience within an engineering environment
  • Ideally Chartered Engineer (CEng) status. or working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Be selfmotivated and be able to work within a team
  • Experience of Human Factors design and methods within projects
  • Understanding of Human Factors modelling techniques
  • Competent in the following software packages: Microsoft Office
  • Understand UK defence procurement and the MOD DE&S HFI processes and standards
  • Ideally have an understanding of Armoured Fighting Vehicles.
