We are looking for a Wellbeing Mentor who supports students with their well being and build positive relationships with students.
The school is a close family type atmosphere which every pupil counts.You will be working in a specialist provision school supporting pupils who 'Learn by doing' and may not have been able to access the support needed in mainstream school settings.
A bespoke and enriching curriculum is created using hands on and active learning. This involves supporting pupils in activities such as forest school, music, art, DT, cooking, sports and more.
This school have a positive outlook on providing happy, healthy learning environments for all and focus strongly on the wellbeing of pupils and staff alike.
The Role:
- Specialist School in Newton Abbot
- Full time Monday to Friday 8.30am 16:00pm (Term time)
- Immediate Start
- Support children with learning difficulties, emotional difficulties, academics and wellbeing
- Training provided safeguarding level 2, team teach, autism awareness
The job of a Wellbeing Mentor is a vital role in education it bridges the gap between teacher and student to digest information, motivate and encourage to fulfil their potential.
This teaching assistant role consists of working 1:1 and in small groups with children with either challenging behaviour or special educational needs.
You will build a rapport with the child in order to gain their attention and help them focus on the work, aiding their learning.
The types of special needs you will be supporting are autism, ADHD, hearing and visual impairment, social and emotional and mental healthYou:
- Must have an enhanced DBS (assistance provided)
- A minimum of core GCSE's
- Provide 2 recent references

£85.00-£95.00 per day
