Careers & Work Placement Officer

Full time


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and self-motivated person to join our Youth Contract teams as a Careers & Work Placement Coordinator.


We are looking for a proven and experienced manager to drive our Careers, Employment and Work Placement Strategy forward for our 16-24-year-old provision.

You will need an excellent understanding of Careers development in line with the Gatsby Benchmark to support the progression of our learners.


You will be educated or be prepared to undertake a Level 4 IAG or above and have proven experience of providing careers advice, ability to manage individual caseload and work towards targets.

You should have excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to providing an outstanding learner experience along with the ability to use tact and initiative.

We are looking for individuals who are flexible, as hours of work are varied and based around our learner's timetables.


You will be joining a dynamic team working in Gloucester within our Youth Team division to support our Careers and Employability strategy.


You will also come with a proven track record of identifying, matching and engaging employers to provide work placement opportunities for our learners.

You will have an active caseload of learners to match and place within work experience alongside their Study Programme.


Qualifications:


  • Hold a minimum of Level 4 IAG or prepared to work towards
  • Hold Level 2 or equivalent in maths and English
  • Full driving licence and own car

Experience and Skills:


Essential

  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Leadership and management skills acting as a positive role model at all times.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ideally hold a track record in a recruitment, sales or targeted role.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and be a team player to
  • Experience of working or volunteering with young people and/or vulnerable adults.
  • Good levels of maths and English.
  • Ability to work to KPI's and manage caseloads.
  • A good level of IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages.
  • Strong coaching and problemsolving skills.
  • A flexible and solutionfocused approach to completing tasks.
  • Empathy with Young People and/or Vulnerable Adults.
  • Experience in forming and maintaining appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with Young People and/or Vulnerable Adults.
  • Ability to display emotional resilience when faced with challenging behaviours.

Additional Information

Salary:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience - Up to £26,000 per annum pro rata

Location: Gloucestershire.

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week - 8:45am - 16:45pm Monday
