Description

All roles with the Bank are ad hoc (as and when) and therefore in particular may suit those already working part-time, with other commitments, or who want to work on a short-term basis.

We can support Bank staff migration into a permanent role where there are vacancies.

HPFT provides support for service users with mental health, learning disability and children's and adolescent mental health problems. Applicants should have some experience of working in a healthcare setting particularly within learning disability services.

Main Duties & responsibilities

  • To supervise or assist serviceusers with personal hygiene requirements including bathing, washing and toileting, where required
  • Be fully conversant with the risk assessment and risk management care plans of each Service User
  • Ensure that the statutory requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983 are observed and applied
  • As a team member support colleagues, and where necessary, ensure that they are aware of each individuals management program in relation to security / risk behaviours
  • Promote Service User empowerment in all aspects of their care
  • To supervise or assist during meal times service users and to report any eating difficulties to registered staff
  • To assist with occupational and rehabilitation therapies including sports, shopping and social activities when required, in support of registered staff

Main Duties & responsibilities

  • To supervise or assist serviceusers with personal hygiene requirements including bathing, washing and toileting, where required

  • To assist with occupational and rehabilitation therapies including sports, shopping and social activities when required, in support of registered staff
  • To assist in admission procedures, transfers and discharge of service users including the safekeeping of relevant personal property.
  • To assist in maintaining record charts such as nursing observation, fluid balance, weight, temperature, pulse and respirations
  • To work in support of registered staff in all forms of group and individual therapy
  • To undertake the escort of service users in wards, day hospitals and ambulances and to offer support and reassurance to service users as required
  • To undertake escort duties to other hospitals as required.
  • To prepare and tidy beds, personal lockers and bed areas of clients who are unable to care for their own possessions and to supervise those service users who are able to do so.
  • To assist medical or registered nurses with diagnostic techniques this may include obtaining sample specimens and routine urine testing.
  • To carry out observation of service users in accordance with the Nursing Observation Policy.
  • To assist registered staff in the implementation of individual nursing care plans.
