Are you an experienced Manufacturing Leader, an Engineering Manager or Operations Manager working within an fmcg manufacturing environment and looking for your next challenge as a manufacturing leader?


Together with the General Manager, you'll lead the Stockton site team, and will have direct responsibility for driving the Engineering and Manufacturing agenda to deliver our five-year plan through
people, process and products in our bakery.

The bakery has recently had substantial investment and we have continued growth plans.

The Recipe As our Manufacturing Lead in Stockton, you'll deliver a significant change agenda supporting our vision of being Britain's Best Food business and having manufacturing excellence. This encompasses our strategy around safety, quality, service, cost and peopledevelopment. Not only an experienced Operational professional, you'll also be a credible and inspirational leader. You will lead, support, and develop the site through your expertise in high performing teams, continuous cost improvement and benchmarking vsbest practice ultimately achieving operational excellence.


Safety is our number one priority, and you will be responsible for driving our Health, Safety and Environment strategy, legislation and company standards.

You will lead and engage the full manufacturing team to deliver the annual HSE plan and drive the HSEculture change through their involvement, ownership and responsibility for HSE activities.


This role leads the development and delivery of the site manufacturing plan, budgets, capex proposals and projects, as well as monitoring and driving performance.

It supports the General Manager and leads the site management team ensuring enterprise leadership,continuous improvement, engagement and strong communication are effective and embedded across the site.

Cross functional working and collaboration is a way of life in Warburtons.

As well as developing your team of talented functional managers, we are looking for someone with a service mentality who looks to support and work with our colleagues in commercial,distribution and the wider business.


Essential Ingredients:


  • Experience at Senior Manager level with effective leadership and people management experience
  • Knowledge and experience of leadership in a FMCG environment
  • Knowledge and experience of continuous improvement, worldclass manufacturing techniques.
  • Comfortable with data and using it to track performance trends and prioritise action plans.
  • Awareness of latest technology and techniques applicable to drive reliability, efficiency, yield and damage improvements and ensure best practice
  • A strong and confident communicator both written and verbal
  • Be influential, articulate and persuasive. A relationship builder
- establishing credibility with both internal and external contacts at all levels

  • Knowledge of legislation relating to a manufacturing environment (including employment law).
  • H&S/Food Safety/food hygiene systems & legislation knowledge e.g. COSHH, IOSH.
  • Quality systems & knowledge of HACCP able to ensure the sites output meet required quality standards.
  • Experience of working with Trade Unions
  • Financial acumen and ability to deliver challenging cost targets in a competitive market.
  • A leader with experience of creating and implementing strategic plans
